Four Senses season two set to premiere on AMI-tv

Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) announced today that the second season of Four Senses, the cooking show with an accessibility twist, will kick off Friday, January 23.

Four Senses is a unique food show produced by AMI in conjunction with Varner Productions Limited that unites blind and sighted chefs in the kitchen. Hosts Christine Ha and Carl Heinrich are back to whip up delicious dishes along with the help of a fresh new batch of celebrity guests. Each 30-minute show will feature advice from nutrition expert Melissa Ramos about eating well to promote eye health, plus accessibility tips and tools for independence in the kitchen.

“The first season of Four Senses was very popular so I couldn’t imagine not bringing it back,” says Brian Perdue, Director of Programming for AMI-tv. “We’re committed to airing compelling and engaging original content that really speaks to our audience, and Four Senses is a great example of that. It’s entertaining while keeping a strong focus on accessibility.”

Season two will once again feature embedded description, with hosts and guests describing actions as they go for audience members who are blind or partially sighted. Guests this season include: Frank Ferragine from BT Toronto, Chef Bonnie Stern, Ed Robertson from the Barenaked Ladies, Canadian Living Food Director Annabelle Waugh and Looneyspoons’ sisters Janet and Greta Podleski.

A new element is introduced in season two as Christine and Carl hit the road for on-location shoots, visiting vibrant places with a strong connection to the show or the food industry. Throughout the season the audience will be transported to places like Prince Edward County, the Niagara Region and even Christine’s hometown of Houston, Texas.

Four Senses producer Anne-Marie Varner appreciates the support the show has received so far and says fans have a lot to look forward to this season. “We really wanted to build on the success of the first season and come back stronger than ever,” she explains. “Season two really highlights amazing recipes and guests, additional locations outside of the studio and the camaraderie between Christine and Carl.”

Four Senses season two airs Fridays at 4 and 7 pm on AMI-tv. Watch the entire first season plus episodes from season two as they become available online with the accessible AMI-player. Check your local provider or visit AMI.ca for the AMI channels in your area.
