AMI-tv announces new and returning original programs for summer season
Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) announced today that fan favourites Canada in Perspective and Blind Sighted with Kelly MacDonald will both return for new seasons in June alongside a new original program called Montreal Housemates.
“We’re looking forward to kicking off our summer season with a variety of original programs that are pertinent and interesting to Canadians of all abilities,” says John Melville, Vice-President of Programming and Production for AMI-tv. “There’s truly something for everyone. Kelly MacDonald is bringing back the laughs with Blind Sighted, we’re debating social issues on Canada in Perspective, and highlighting real life experiences with accessibility and inclusion in Montreal Housemates.”
Now in its fifth season, AMI’s award-winning Canada in Perspective explores current societal issues and how they affect Canadians of all abilities. Each 30-minute episode features guests to analyze the issues and share their personal experiences along with field pieces that further address accessibility and inclusion in communities across the country. Canada in Perspective is produced for AMI-tv by Varner Productions. Veteran broadcaster Anna-Karina Tabuñar returns to host season five, starting Sunday, June 5 at 6:30 p.m.
On Monday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. Blind Sighted with Kelly MacDonald returns for season two and this time around Kelly’s world just got a whole lot bigger! Tune in as the crew hits the road for a new set of adventures including dog sledding, car racing in Las Vegas, a trip to ComiCon, climbing the CN Tower, and more. It’s time for Kelly to work through his bucket list and maybe rant about a thing or two along the way. Blind Sighted with Kelly MacDonald is produced for AMI-tv by Breakthrough Entertainment.
What happens when four people of varying abilities live together in a city apartment? On Wednesday, June 15 at 7:30 p.m. AMI-tv introduces Montreal Housemates, produced in partnership with Zone3. Kim, Chris, Sandro and Catherine each have a unique set of challenges but will soon realize they have a lot in common as they work to navigate a world that’s not perfectly accessible.
