    • They are also holding Goalball demonstrations across the province 
    • And Calgary members are participating in the ParticipACTION community challenge which includes hiking and rowing at William Watson Lodge on June 17

  • Community reporter Milena Khazanavicius reflects on the effects of the Halifax wildfires
    • She also describes a new accessibility study put on by Dalhousie’s PEACH Research Unit
      • People of all abilities are welcome to share their experiences
      • Participants must be 18 years of age or older
      • This focus group should last no longer than 90 minutes and a $100 honorarium will be provided to all participants

    • Dragon Boating is making its return in June at Graham’s Grove Park on Lake Banook  in Dartmouth
      • All paddles, life jackets, and instructions are free of charge to people who are blind and partially sighted
      • The dates are: June 17, June 24, July 1, July 29, August 5, August 12, August 19, August 26, September 9 from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Atlantic time

      • The fair will take place on May 31 at Bay Street Active Living Centre from 1 to 3 p.m. ET. The venue is located at 619 Bay St. 
      • The parabus will be parked outside the facility and applications are available.  
      • There will be over 20 tables with info for seniors, people with disabilities, caregivers, family members and friends. 
      • Organizations include: the Vulnerable Persons Registry, Seniors Mental Health Services, Strength Training for Seniors, Algoma Farmers Market, SSM Emergency Preparedness, Soo Medical Services, and more 
      • Refreshments will be available 
      • There will be gift cards and 2 gift baskets for draw prizes
